why do anarchists and other peace-seeking people so frequently utilize violent language in regard to their opposition? even the term “fight war, not wars” supposes that we need to “fight”—which is true to an extent, but to me it only reveals a hate for other people and their institutions. how do we create peace without fighting war?
one particular answer here—the department of peace. not exactly an anarchist answer if it is within a democracy…but it’s a great idea. by having a department of peace, we create and spread peace. duh. don’t you think that maybe having a department of defense creates a need to defend? the same goes with cops—by having a policing force, you create a need to police one another. i guess you could argue that human nature is violent and destructive…but i know so many people who truly aren’t violent. i chose to believe that violence is a socialized characteristic and you know why? because bringing harm to people (out of fear or hate) is COMPLETELY against the continuation of humanity and evolutionary flawed. our instincts (one could argue mode of perception as well) is to eat, breed, and create. by bringing violence and hate into this equation we trivialize our potential not only as humans, but as a collective whole with all life. duh. i believe and i know that humans are beautiful, just look at us.

this is 5,000 years old, when we were not even sapiens sapiens yet.
